Carter High School is a public high school located at 210 North Carter School Rd in the Strawberry Plains neighborhood of Knox County, Tennessee, operated by the Knox County school system. The school's athletic teams are nicknamed the Hornets, and its colors are green and white. The sports teams sponsored by the school are baseball, basketball, cheerleading, cross country, football, golf, soccer, softball, tennis, track & field, and volleyball. Wrestling and rugby are also offered to students; however, they are not school-sponsored activities.[1]
Carter High Schools football team has been coached by Mr. Heath Woods for the past eight years (2004-2011). Coach Wood's current record stands at 45-34-0 for the Hornets. He has consecutively lead the Hornets football team to multiple back to back Region Championships and won a good majority of them. [2]
